As noted in part 6, it is my opinion that if you go to Skagway, you must take the White Pass and Yukon Railroad. While we did not do that on this trip, we did do that excursion on our trip in 2005. The pictures below are from that trip. Remember that they were taken from a moving train, using a very early 5 megapixel camera.
It was a dreary rainy day in Juneau. We went on the AJ Mine and Gastineau Mill tour. This was a very cool tour in which we actually went into the old mine and one of the former miners explained the operation of the various pieces of machinery. Flash photography was not allowed, so I did not get any pictures. If you click through the link provided, you'll see a few provided by the tour company. In the gift shop, they have a simulation of running the drill. Jean is pictured there.
On our previous trip to Juneau, we went to Mendenhall Glacier and a salmon farm. Those tours are worth doing too.
